Honest Review of KiwiCo’s Panda Crate

We had our daughter in the summer of 2021. That Christmas one of our gifts to each of our boys was a subscription box of something they were interested in. We got our oldest son a subscription to a snack food box. Our middle son got an engineering/art subscription box. And our youngest son got an animal subscription box. I searched for something that our 6 month old could use and enjoy. Here is my honest review of KiwiCo’s Panda Crate.
What is KiwiCo?
KiwiCo is a company that creates STEAM kits for kids. They have items that you can buy as a one time option. But they also have subscriptions you can purchase for a monthly delivery of all kinds of hands-on fun. Their kits are categorized by age and also by interest. For example, you can purchase a kit for 0-2 year olds or a kit for 9-16 year olds. You can purchase a kit for engineering, cooking, geography or art. There are so many options, which I love!
What is the Panda Crate?
KiwiCo’s Panda Crate is a box designed for babies newborn to 2 years old. Every other month you will get a box with 5-6 toys. When you sign up your child for this subscript you will put in their birthday so that KiwiCo knows what toys are appropriate for you child’s age. The boxes usually have a theme. One month my daughter’s box was all about farm animals. One month it was about textures. And another month it was about sounds. Most of the toys are made of wood with non-toxic paint so they are safe for little ones. Every toy has some kind of learning aspect. KiwiCo includes lots of information about each toy and how to use it to maximize your child’s learning.
What Are the Details About the Panda Crate?
The Panda Crate comes every other month. So your little can play with their toys for 2 months before getting a new set of toys. Each months box is about $35. That makes each toys around $6. One of my favorite things about the toys in the Panda Crate is that they are relatively small toys. They are easy to throw in a diaper bag. You can easily take several of these toys with you to doctor offices, sibling sporting events, church, etc.
What Are My Final Thoughts on KiwiCo’s Panda Crate?
I love this subscription box! The toys are all age appropriate for your child. If there is a toy your child isn’t quite getting you can always put it away and bring it back out in a couple of months when they are ready. My daughter would play with toys she got several months earlier. A grandparent, aunt, uncle or friend can gift a box to a child.
